About Stephanie: The Herb Enthusiast Behind Celebrated Herb

I See You!
Standing in front of your beautiful, thriving, overflowing herb bed wondering... "What am I going to do with all these herbs?" Well, you've come to the right place!
Welcome to Celebrated Herb, your ultimate herb inspiration destination. I'm Stephanie LeBlanc, a passionate herb gardener and creative enthusiast on a mission to help you make the most of your bountiful harvests.
My Herb Journey
I fell in love with herbs about 15 years ago when I planted my first thyme in our small city garden. I was so excited to see it come back year after year, growing from a tiny sprig into a happy, thriving plant despite my beginner-level care. That one resilient plant kickstarted a passion that's now grown into multiple gardens and a deep love for these amazing plants.
My gardening roots go back much earlier though, thanks to my dad. As a horticulturist, he showed me the magic of growing things and taught me to respect plants and nature. Some of my best childhood memories are from working in the garden with him, soaking up his knowledge and watching how carefully he tended everything he grew. While I didn't go to horticultural school myself, those early gardening days with my dad set the stage for my lifelong plant obsession.

The Best Part About Herbs? The Abundance!
As an avid gardener and floral designer who also runs Celebrated Nest (my home and DIY website focused on styling gracious living spaces), herbs hold an immense passion of mine spanning years now. My deep love for flowers and other botanicals used in design work informed the realization that I wanted to spotlight another green area of passion - the vibrant world of herbs!
Loving herb growers are usually met with more bounty than we know what to do with at first! My aim with Celebrated Herb is to offer guidance, inspiration, and plenty of projects to help you use up, enjoy, and preserve that plentiful harvest.

What Drives My Approach
What excites me most about herbs is their incredible versatility beyond the basic culinary uses we all know:
Beyond Garnishes: I create herb-forward recipes where herbs take center stage rather than merely supporting other ingredients
Practical Applications: From cleaning products to bath and body care, herbs offer natural alternatives for everyday needs
Creative Expression: Combining herbs with flowers for beautiful, functional, and often unexpected results
Year-Round Enjoyment: Developing preservation methods for herbs that extend the herb garden's bounty through all seasons
Garden Wisdom: Sharing practical tips for growing thriving herb gardens in any space—from windowsills to raised beds—with emphasis on companion planting, natural pest control, and methods to improve soil health naturally and more
Seasonal Teas: Crafting delicious herbal tea blends that celebrate the garden's changing flavors— Elevate your tea experience with my elegant lavender sugar cubes that dissolve into beautiful purple swirls, and discover my tested methods for proper tea storage that preserves those delicate garden flavors for months.
Curiosity is my constant companion in the garden. I believe the best garden education comes from getting your hands in the soil, observing what works (and what doesn't), and being willing to try new approaches. This spirit of experimentation—inherited from my father—drives everything I do with herbs.

How I Grow
My herb adventures happen in Massachusetts Zone 6b, where I've fallen in love with several growing methods:
Raised Beds: My go-to for most herbs, both perennial and annual
Containers: Perfect for trying new varieties, creating new plantings like my mint topiary and controlling growing conditions
Flowering Herbs: I have a special affinity for herbs in their flowering stage—from the delicate blooms of thyme, spikes of mint flowers to the beautiful purple spikes my lavender tree
Indoor Growing: Keeping favorites nearby year-round with hydroponic growing and indoor herb growing
I love herbs at all stages of their growth cycle, but there's something truly magical about flowering herbs that brings both beauty and function to the garden. These blooming beauties not only look stunning, but they also attract beneficial pollinators and can be used in unique ways beyond their leaves.
Everything I share—every technique, recipe, and project—has been tested in my own garden. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right, but that's part of the fun!
